Together with Sohn Hearts & Minds, we know this is possible.

Chief Executive Officer
Commonwealth Bank
Thank you for being part of the Sohn Hearts & Minds family, Australia’s leading global investor forum.
Since the Conference’s inception in 2016, and the launch of our charitable ASX listed investment fund HM1 in 2018, we have raised more than $30m for medical research in Australia.
Over this period, we have brought together 120 speakers, including some of the world’s leading global investors such as Howard Marks, Ray Dalio, Bill Ackman, and Mike Milken, to share their investment wisdom with over 4600 attendees. The quality of the ideas from the fund managers, combined with the analysis and research behind them, and the returns, has been simply outstanding. HM1 is now widely recognised as one of Australia’s best performing listed investment companies.
This year’s conference will be hard to top!
Our keynote is world renowned global investor, Vice Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, Charlie Munger.
And our medical research keynote is MIT Institute Professor and Co-Founder of Moderna, Prof Robert Langer. Also known as the “Edison of Medicine” Prof Langer is the most cited engineer in history!
Not surprisingly, this will be our most watched event, with over 1300 attendees already registered to join.
Australia is a global leader in medical research and our scientists are responsible for some of the world’s most important life saving discoveries. Having world class medical research in Australia means that all Australians can access cutting edge treatments for both chronic and rare diseases. In the past two years we have witnessed first-hand the importance for Australia to further invest in its onshore capabilities in research and drug development.
We are hugely indebted to the generosity of the investment community as it has embraced the Conference and HM1. This generosity has been given in the form of time, intellectual property and cash. Very simply, without their collective support, we wouldn’t be here.
On behalf of all the medical researchers across the various organisations (profiled below) Hearts & Minds has supported over the past six years, we wish to acknowledge and warmly thank the individuals and organisations that have made this year’s virtual conference possible, including you for attending.
We hope you enjoy the content and thank you again for your generous contribution.
